Please read the ePetitions' Frequently Asked Questions page for further details on the content and promotion of ePetitions.

A petition must be submitted in good faith.

You must not include:

  • potentially libellous, false or defamatory statements;
  • information protected by a court order (e.g. the identities of children in custody disputes);
  • matters which are subject to appeal processes or legal actions;
  • material which is commercially sensitive, confidential or which may cause personal distress or loss;
  • the names of individual officials of public bodies; or
  • the names of individuals, or information which may easily identify an individual in relation to criminal accusations.

Privacy policy

Only your name and community will appear on the website. The other details you give us are needed by the Office of the Clerk to validate your support. This is the same information required for a paper petition. Your details will only be viewed by the Office of the Clerk. Your details will not be used for any purposes other than ePetitions.

Personal details will automatically be removed two years after the closing date of the ePetition.
